The house I’m renting has a lot of bugs, how do I get rid of them, I can’t afford an exterminator?

I keep my house spotless but they still appear! I clean the house thoroughly every week, and light cleaning a few times a week. My house is in an area with a lot of trees… the types of bugs found are usually ants, spiders, beetles, and millipedes, yuck!

I’m opposed to bug sprays or foggers indoors because what kills bugs is not good for us and it penetrates every surface, including walls and clothes and rugs. But you can use sprays outside around the base of the house. You should also clear the pants so there is a gap between the plants and the house. If you have a crawl space under the house you can use a fogger there. You can also take a tube of caulk and fill any cracks around windows or any other place outside providing access for small things into your house.
