Beginner Roller Coaster Question?
I have a bit of dilemma here – On Monday, June 1st, I’ll be visiting my local amusement park, Kennywood Park, which I have visited many, many times. Surprisingly, though, I am DEATHLY AFRAID OF ROLLER COASTERS. The dilemma here is that I WANT to ride a coaster, but I am too AFRAID. Are there any tips for getting on that first ride? If it helps any, the coasters at Kennywood, in order from mildest to most intense:
Racer – Very Mild
Jack Rabbit – Mild / Intense
Exterminator – Mild /Intense
Thunderbolt – Intense
Phantom’s Revenge – Very Intense / Extreme

A couple of years back, I was FORCED on the the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood – I absolutely absolutely hated it. I can’t remember that feeling that I had – it’s gone from me now.
When you go over a hill in a car – is that like the feeling you would get on a roller coaster?
Start with the mildest, most secure coaster, making sure to sit somewhere in the middle of the coaster. Then make your way through the rest until you get to the most intense. You may like the first so much, just keep riding. Find what you like, try some other things and you will find a great time.
