I am totally freaked out by mice in my house one ran over my foot?

last night – i have traps set in my kitchen – this is tramatic for me the thought of a dead mouse in my kitchen may be as bad as live mice – i need help in putting this thing in perspective – i suspect judging my the amount of feces in my basement i have a big problem – my house is very clean. i had an exterminator here and all he did was spray some dust and set traps around – it will cost me $50. bucks more if i have him empty the traps – i don’t feel safe in my own house and am experience a lot of anxiety – please help me put this into proper perspective.

I have a phobia of mice. When i had mice in my house, i was so scared that i left the house and slept over at a friends house. We got an exterminator, and that got rid of the problem. But then mice came back again some months later. I finally solved the problem by getting a cat. Mice will not come into a house where there is a cat. Mice can ‘smell’ that there is a cat in the house, and they will not go into that house. Since i have a cat, and it has been years by now, i have not seen a mouse in my house. But if you take this advise, make your cat an indoor cat. If you let the cat outside, it may bring a little ‘present’ home to you.
