I saw a cockroach this morning?
I live in a studio apartment, and when I woke up around 4am to go to the bathroom, I saw 2 HUGE cockroaches (about the size of my pointer finger) scurry about. I jumped up on my bed (I hate bugs…), called the concierge, and scheduled an exterminator to come on Wednesday.
I will be staying at my friend’s place until the exterminator finishes his job.
Now… am I overreacting? Should I be just ignoring them, and thinking it was a one-time thing, or was it wise to call the exterminator? I live in NYC (where pest problems are rampant in poor districts) in an upscale, brand new apartment (opened its doors January of this year), so these problems shouldn’t exist…
Keep in mind, pests can hitchhike in whatever items you may be bringing in to your apartment. They nest in your appliances, in boxes, etc.
